1. Introduction

Downloads Plus is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how the extension handles your data.

2. Permissions We Request

• downloads — to read your download history, including file names, URLs, sizes and states, and to pause, resume, cancel, retry or remove downloads.
• downloads.ui — to hide Chrome's own download button and notification bubble. Chrome's bubble renders on top of the extension's toolbar popup and makes it unreadable, so the extension suppresses it and shows equivalent progress on its own icon instead. You can re-enable Chrome's download UI at any time from the extension's settings, and disabling or removing the extension restores it automatically.
• tabs — to detect navigation to chrome://downloads and redirect it to the extension's own downloads page, and to focus that page if it is already open.
• storage — to save your preferences (theme, sort order, keyboard shortcuts, auto-clear interval) locally on your device.
• alarms — to schedule the optional auto-clear timer that removes completed downloads after an interval you choose. Failed downloads are never auto-cleared.

3. Data Storage and Transmission

All data remains on your device. Downloads Plus does not collect, transmit or store any personal information, download history or browsing data on external servers. All processing happens locally in your browser. There are no analytics and no third-party trackers.

4. Local Storage

The extension uses Chrome's storage API exclusively to save your preferences locally. This data never leaves your browser. Uninstalling the extension removes it.

5. Files on Your Computer

Downloads Plus never reads the contents of downloaded files. It works only with the metadata Chrome provides — file name, size, source URL and status. "Show in folder" asks your operating system to reveal a file; the extension does not open or read it.

6. Third-Party Libraries

All third-party libraries are bundled locally within the extension package. No external scripts or resources are loaded at runtime.

This policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date above.
